Details: Internship applications accepted year round, but students should apply by February for a chance at a summer internship. Internships are typically offered in the summer for 6-10 weeks depending on the student and project offered, but can be part time during the school year which typically runs 10-20 weeks long. Students are required to take the internship for college credit. Each intern will be assigned a supervisor and a mentor to assist them during their time at the lab. That supervisor will recommend a grade to the college instructor responsible for the student. Biology most often requests interns for projects. Interns are also expected to complete the assigned project and then present the findings to the administrative staff and the analysts in the affected discipline. Opportunities to watch casework, observe court testimony if possible, learn about each discipline and mentoring in their chosen area will be available.
